Test Description – Series 8 (scrapped test)

Good afternoon from the National Derby Championship!

We’ve moved across the property to Swede’s Field. It’s warmed up to 79 degrees, and it’s breezy with a SSE wind at 17mph with gusts up to 30 mph.

Test 8 is a Land Double with Hen Pheasants

Swede Field is made of several terraced hills, with a moderate slope down toward the water on the right of the mat. The mat sits on a side hill, facing Northwest.

Bird #1 is a Hen Pheasant, thrown Right to Left. The gunners sit 143 yards from the line and throw their bird across the road into the test. The line to this bird takes the dog tight to a cedar tree 50 yards from the line. We will refer to this bird as LR for Long Right.

Bird #2 is a Hen Pheasant, thrown Left to Right. The gunners sit 105 yards from the mat and throw their bird into the test. The bird lands tight behind a clump of cedar trees. We will refer to this bird as S for Short.

This test takes approximately 3.5 minutes per dog.

Callbacks to the 8th Series

22 dogs were called back:  2, 4, 5, 6, 13, 14, 18, 23, 27, 28, 30, 32, 34, 35, 37, 40, 43, 45, 46, 49, 50 and 51
