Entry Questionnaire
Owner Name: Steven Willis
Dog Full Name: Green River’s Grappler
When did you begin competing in Field Trials?
3 years ago when a friend of mine, Joe Cook encouraged me to get a field trial dog. My First dog is Randy who aged out prior to the NDC at that time.
What made you decide to compete in Field Trials?
After Randy, I got Storm and Earl. Both qualified and ran the NDC 2022. Earl went out in the 6th series and Storm went out in the 8th series. It’s a competitive sport and I love it. I’d been with dogs growing up and been hunting with them. It’s kind of a smooth transition to Field Trials.
Who are your training partners at home?
I trained with Joe Cook whenever we have time off work.
What is the origin of your dog’s name?
Green River’s is the kennel name of her breeder and trainer. Grappler because when she was 4 weeks old, we saw a video of her grappling a teddy bear stuff toy triple her size.
The call name, “Jitsu” is a martial art and a combat system.
Tell us an interesting story or fact about your dog.
Jitsu is a smart and intelligent dog and brave. As a puppy she loves to play with the Dutch Shepherd and grapple with him.

Down the hill and made an angle entry into the water and up onto the land bridge, a big left angle up the hill right behind the guns, a loop over to the cover and he had his bird.
