Entry Questionnaire
Owner Name: Jory A. Liddiard
Dog Full Name: Hyflyer’s Outlaw Express
When did you begin competing in Field Trials?
2017
What made you decide to compete in Field Trials?
I was competing in hunt tests and went to pick a well bred pup out for my next dog. The breeder told me that the stud dog owner couldn’t decide between a male or a female and he had kept the pick of the litter for both sexes until he decided. The breeder told me if I promised to run field trials with this pup I could have which ever pup he didn’t take. I kept my promise and started running derbies the next year and was hooked. I love this sport.
Who are your training partners at home?
My wife and kids usually, but train as often as I can with Gregg Johnson, Todd Christensen, Cindy Galaster, Dan Inn, and Doug Hansen.
What is the origin of your dog’s name?
Mary Spangler helped us with the name. We knew we wanted her call name Billy. At our favorite ski resort the chairlift is called “Outlaw Express”, so we knew that was the name for her.
Tell us an interesting story or fact about your dog.
She was at the National Derby last year at 7 months old sitting on the sidelines cheering for our other dog as he competed. We knew that we had to come back, as the National Derby was so much fun. We made it our goal at that time to get her ready to qualify her for the 2023 National Derby.
You and your dog have made it through nine series of the National Derby Championship. You are about to come to the line for the 10th series with a chance to win the 2023 National Derby Champion. What song and artist would you want to hear playing as the two of you come to the line?
Johnny Cash “God’s Gonna Cut You Down”
Billy and Marc came to the line at 10:38 am
Initial line from the mat all the way straight to the bird! Very Nice!
