19. C & N’s Queen Of The Teche, “Ibe,” BLF, Paul Sletten

Entry Questionnaire

Owner Name: Cameron & Nina Johnson

Dog Full Name: C&N’s Queen of the Teche

When did you begin competing in Field Trials?

I ran my first field trial in 2019 after being introduced to the sport by Dr. Doreen Comrie (fun fact, she introduced Cam and I too!).

What made you decide to compete in Field Trials?

My competitive spirit, love of the outdoors, and these athletic dogs drew me into the field trial game.

Who are your training partners at home?

We have a great training group at home including Jim Sullivan, Kurt Dunn, Fred Lehnertz, Kevin Greenhoe, & Rick Aro. We were fortunate to have Rod Sage as a key member of our training group as well over the years and he will be greatly missed.

What is the origin of your dog’s name?

“Ibe” and her littermates were born in New Iberia, Louisiana. We wanted to pay tribute to their start and New Iberia is known as the Queen City of the Teche…. So she became “Queen of the Teche” and her call name is short for Iberia!

Tell us an interesting story or fact about your dog.

She has two brothers running the National Derby with her… good luck brothers!

You and your dog have made it through nine series of the National Derby Championship. You are about to come to the line for the 10th series with a chance to win the 2023 National Derby Champion. What song and artist would you want to hear playing as the two of you come to the line?

"Bohemian Rhapsody"  by Queen

Ibe and Paul came to the line at 9:59 am

Down the hill, nice angle in, skimmed the left side of the water, ran the land bridge, up the hill to the left of the guns, made a couple of loops and over to cover and the bird.
